On February 8th, 2016, Bujangan Urban made his first graffiti artwork at the Bangsal area. It represents the phenomenon of youth life who are affected by tourism. From the changing of their tastes toward cigarettes to fashion style, social interactions and their perspectives.
The graffiti contained the words “SANTAI BRO, JADI DIRI SENDIRI” (“EASY DUDE. BE YOUR SELF”) were done by Bujangan Urban for two hours. What the interesting is that there’s so many people in the street stopped their move for a while just to see and watch what Bujangan Urban did. Some tourists also watched for the process and discussed the meaning of the text. Subhan and Karnaen, two residents of Bangsal admitted that the text drawn by Bujangan Urban was a criticism toward them and other people in Pemenang in order to keep preserving the traditions and Adats in the Pemenang.
In the night, Bujangan Urban also made another graffiti work in the same area. He wrote “RESPECT LOCAL CULTURE”.
