Without much ado, they started discussion after Muhammad Gozali (Director of pasirputih) introduced one by one the akumassa Chronicle’s participants (as well as their artwork project) to the keynote speakers. Mr. Subhan, Mr. Maswan and Mr. Karnain then shared their insight about Bangsal. From the situations of Bangsal in the past until nowadays. Mr. Subhan emphasized also the word “memeta”. “Is it memeta as earning a living, or memeta as finding the values of life?” he asked. For him and his friends, Bangsal is a place where they find the values of life. Indeed, there are so many negative image attached to Bangsal, one of which is how foreign mass media issued that there were a lot of mafia in the Bangsal However, Mr. Subhan together with his friends keeps trying to do the best for Bangsal according to their local wisdom.
Mr. Subhan and Mr. Karnain couldn’t stay longer in the discussion due to another activites that they have to attend. In the evening, Mr. Maswan talked more about economic activites in the Bangsal. One important information needed to be noted is that Bangsal has never has its typical local product because everything was following and produced outside of Pemenang. In addition, according to Mr. Maswan, one of the weakness of the Bangsal is the lack of knowledge in Bangsal people to make the good packages of their local materials to be a valuables product for tourists.
