n February 6th, 2016, after meeting with H. Amir regarding to their plan to work in collaboration, Gelar Soemantri (a participant of akumassa Chronicle) went to Bangsal Harbor, continuing his shooting process for his video work of “montage of water”. In the respect of his plan to mobilize people from Gili to Bangsal with dozen boats, Gelar was adviced by H. Amir to do negotiations with Moslems in the three Gili. Gelar said that he will do the observation and negotiation next week, helped by Imran (a member of pasirputih).
In the afternoon of February 6th, accompanied by Imran, Gelar shot, among others: fishing activites at the dock of the Bangsal Harbor, people swimming at the beach, and the boats that passed in front of the harbor. Gelar has been in the process to make 5 until 10 video works for his “montage of water” category. In the video works, Gelar will not only put informations of Bangsal condition, but also experiment with the visualization. “Something different with people usually see in their daily activities,” Gelar said. “Maybe I will use technic of moving image collage, one of them.”
Gelar had also know some fishermen who want to join the making process of his video works. He will take footages on the boat next week in the sunny days.
