On Saturday, February 13th, 2016, Gelar Soemantri (a participant of akumassa Chronicle) seemed to be busy in front of the computer in the pasirputih’s studio. At the time, he was in the process of editing the fifth video which is part of “Water Montage” series within his art project for akumassa Chronicle. Along with the process, Gelar had decided to make five videos for “Water Montage” series.
The first video entitled Semendaq Esoq: for a moment we are moving, a visual experiment that frames the boats passing in front of the dock of Bangsal Harbor. The second video, entitled Fishing Interuption, is a visual experiment that frames the fishing and praying activities on the boat on the sea. The third video, entitled Soq Wah Saratin: throw a sea move, is a visual experiment that frames the fishing activities at the dock of the Bangsal Harbor. The fourth video, entitled Leq, Menggae: without you im swimming, is a visual experiment that frames the children who played and swimming at the beach, near the dock of the Bangsal Harbor. And the last one is still in the process of editing.
Gelar is planning to present the “Water Montage” series in the form of video installation, but he hasn’t decided the location yet. “May on the boat, or on the television in the ticketing room,” he said. “It depends on my discussion with the curators later.”
